OUR PARTNERS IN BUILDING FISCAL CAPACITY

A Global Partnership

Launched in January 2024 with the financial support of donor partners, the Global Public Finance Partnership (GPFP) is now the IMF’s main vehicle for providing fiscal capacity development (CD) support to member countries, with a primary focus on developing countries, especially low-income countries and fragile and conflict-affected states.

The IMF’s Fiscal Affairs Department (FAD) greatly values our long-standing partnership with the international community of donors and CD providers, and the GPFP is also serving as a critical forum for coordination with development partners. As of the Jan 2025 SC Meeting, financing partners are currently: Belgium, Denmark, European Union, France, Germany, Japan, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. Donor partners also support FAD CD to countries through major bilateral fiscal projects and the Fund’s network of RCDCs.
